Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the relative silence. Life can do that sometimes, as I'm sure you're all well aware. As time permits, I've been working on my latest project called Brainers. It's a futuristic AI piece that's been stewing in my brain since the early days of the Pandemic. I've slowly been building my storyboard, outline, and characters. I've managed to write and post-edit the first 5 chapters. If you're interested in an offline beta read, feel free to buzz me. I'd love to get some early input/feedback.

As today is Watty deadline day, good luck to all those who submitted their work! This year looks to be quite difficult with far fewer winning slots available (10 overall for English, non-paid submissions). There's also a strong likelihood that several genres will get shut out completely. On the flip side, maybe the few lucky winners will get a real professional opportunity to do something interesting in 2024. Fingers crossed to those who threw their hat in the ring! :)

Ian, I still have your email from our earlier (fantastic!) interactions. I just sent you the intro blurb and early chapters. :)

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick update from Hollywood, California! I’m here for Wattcon, which officially starts tonight. In a couple of hours WP HQ is hosting a welcome social at the Loews Hotel which is serving as ground central. Wow, I had no idea…Swanky!

If by chance you are here maybe we will bump into each other. :)

Don’t forget to transmit your good vibes for the awards ceremony tomorrow night. I’ve already got all my fingers and toes crossed!!

SEKTORV

Maybe next year we both show up and cause some real havoc! ;-)

@SapphireAlena Thanks to you and Michael. Wayfarer's Lamppost is a wonderful community, something you both should be very proud of as well!

Hi All,

I have some (really) good news!

          Enlightenment made the Wattys Shortlist!

And (shockingly!) WP has it listed first:

          https://www.wattpad.com/list/1344434356

Last year, Ensemble made it as a Shortlister but it was never recognized since the WP notification went directly to my spam bin. :( At the time it was a very hard pill to swallow, missing such a great opportunity. But it just goes to show, that you should never give up, and that sometimes, fate smiles in your direction and gives you a second shot! :)

Thanks to everyone who has visited here over the past couple of years. I'd specifically like to thank @Nightmansid for always being so upbeat and @kemorgan65 and @IanReeve216 for their insights and edits and help to make me a better writer.

          Yay! :)

Thank you! Yeah, it was a rough for me this time last year (beyond the Watty's fiasco). Now, a year later, things have really turned around on multiple fronts. To me, it just goes to show that you should NEVER give up.
Sometimes, the simple passage of time can really change your circumstances and outlook in a positive way. I know that is exactly what happened to me! Thank you for your kind words and the follow!

@SEKTORV Hi Sketorv, congratulations so much on making the Wattys shortlist! I read what happened last year, and like everybody else, I can't even begin to imagine how crushed you must have been. I'm so glad you got another chance, and looking forward to reading through your book!

Getting a second shot was so unreal. WIth Book 2 getting the nod this year, I also hope last year's unrealized Shortlister (Ensemble) might get some belated love! ;-)
