Hello to everyone reading this.
As I've been reading lately I noticed a lot of people are going after the authors for saying black or African American when trying to add diversity to their characters. The same as they would say Latino or Asian. @TheBiblicalSinner who I am currently reading is getting so much flack from that community and I just don't understand why. Perfect example he was describing a person of color up on stage who was African American and was saying how good she was singing but people in the comments were flipping out because he said African American. So here's my question.
What do we call you? This is my response to one of the comments:::: (sorry it's so long but I would really love feedback on this)

I'm not starting anything. I REALLY wanna know. Seriously. No arguing.
The same as I would say "that white girl over there with a red hair...i love her shirt." I'm not allowed to say "that black girl over there with the blonde hair.... I love her shoes."
At this point I cant say black, colored, cocoa, brown, African American, dark skinned..... I mean how the hell do we describe you because saying a person of color is NOT accurate! Because it includes ANY POC. I'm not wanting to tell my friend that I like the Asian girls shoes or the Latinos shoes or the Indians shoes.... I'm complimenting the....what girl????? I'm seriously confused! I know all the N words are a no-no. I get that. TOTALLY. But why do you still call each other that? And why did the kids I grew up with call me theirs? (As in "Hey'O my ____!" I am seriously confused. And just imagine how an author who was trying to include someone of color in their book feels. No wonder they don't diversify.

@PetraPanther Nah girl your good. There is no deadline to answer. It does help. One of my black friends basically told me "We ARE black and brown. Some people just get sensitive but I'm black like your white.......honkey" (were besties so we call each other worse lol) and honestly when I tan....I'm darker than her and her son. So yeah. I never saw a difference growing up. I couldn't stand my grandpa because he always talked horrible about blacks and basically 90% of my friends were POC. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with where you live too. I grew u in Cleveland Ohio so things were a lot different than say Maine. When I moved south one of the first friends I made was black. She honestly told me, no lie "You act more black than I do." I didn't get it though till later. She grew up with mostly white people so had hardly any "slang" whereas I did. Because I grew up and went to inner city schools in Cleveland that are predominantly colored and use shortened speech type slang. That's how I talked. I dunno. I'm writing a book here it seems so yeah. But THANK YOU so much for your input. (Hugs) stay safe.

Hi, I saw you have a list reading, for unfinished stories this is just to warn you that even though "Creature" isn't marked as complete it is. I couldn't have slept without telling you. This book has my heart.

PetraPanther

@Amyls_ I think I did finish it but failed to move it to finished highly recommended. So thank you. And I agree 100%

@LyingHartBeat Well for the record, your not ignorant. Maybe uninformed but not ignorant. Ignorant is when you don't want to learn.

For sure . Whenever I wanna have a meaningful conversation I might hit you up . Sometimes you just long to have a real thorough discussion about certain topics .

I think im ignorant to alot of things and im making it my goal to (among many other things) educate myself more on topics that are important.
