I'm C. M. Brooks, but you can call me Morticia :-)

I'm a great lover of the English language in all forms and I've been writing since I was about 10 years old, however the first 5 or so were pretty crap, so you won't be seeing any of those.

My 2 sons are my reason for being. They keep me alive and fit and on my toes. They are what get me out of bed in the morning - literally! I would love to sleep all day if it wasn't for my children, and my jobs (yes plural) and all the rescue pets. 

Funky little bits about me:
I love karaoke
I love hard manual labour
I love riding in trucks
I love having a #2 shaved haircut
I love fixing and building stuff
Yes I'm a woman, but we're not quite sure how
I ride a motorbike
I love music
I love dancing
I love dancing to live music at our local seedy pubs with local seedy guys
All these above things actually keep me out of depression which I have suffered most of my life - and I deeply believe these things should be talked about to help clear the stigma around mental health issues in our communities
I do live in The Deep Darkness, with my demons, in perfect comfort. It is what we know, and I've come to terms with that. 
I deeply believe we can all live in harmony with our own darkness and demons if only we give ourselves the chance to dance with them instead of fighting against them.

Most of what I write is dark and contains mature themes so please read with caution. My characters will suffer trials of insane magnitudes so please be careful with your hearts in my books. I love plot twists that are unexpected and cliff hangers! If one day I write something light and fluffy I will let you all know it is "work-reading-suitable" so until then just keep the tissues close.
