I live in an apartment with my 85 lb. Weimaraner/Pitbull mix, writing in my spare time between family and work life. 

It used to be a small hobby for me, but I've made the decision to start taking it much more seriously, as I hope to someday start to publish my novels. 

I am lucky to have a close, supportive family who encouraged us as children to partake in the arts. We did sports too, but were never made to choose one over the other, and were never discouraged from pursuing music, art, writing, etc. 

Even to this day. we make regular trips to Barnes & Noble and other places to stock up on books. art supplies, etc. 

I prefer Fantasy novels, while my son prefers National Geographic Encyclopedias. However, we read many books across many genres. 

A few of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, Wicked, Night, The Wave, Where the Red Fern Grows, and Hamlet. 

Aside from books, I am a huge movie nerd. Some of my favorite movies are what I call "otherworldly adventures," meaning things like The Wizard of Oz, Spirited Away, and Alice in Wonderland.
One of my favorite movies of all time is Howl's Moving Castle, and I believe that Atlantis: The Lost Empire is one of the most underrated Disney movies. 

I'm also a big anime fan. It would take forever to list everything that I enjoy, but a couple of my favorites are One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and The Ancient Magus' Bride. I also love Avatar: The Last Airbender and Voltron, which aren't TECHNICALLY anime in the sense that they aren't Japanese cartoons, but they definitely fit in with the anime style.
