@HBPwings That's certainly quite the list of questions! Hopefully the following answers help clear things up, though I don't want to get too spoilery.
Mitchell is out, and Peter is in. (y/n) isn't engaged anymore, so that whole section will be altered to fit the new relationships or removed entirely. I might add something or someone else to fill the odd gap Mitchell left, but right now I don't have any plans too. The decision to make the switch was a combination of things- I honestly wasn't super happy with the Mitchell/(y/n) dynamic in the original. I mostly did it for the drama, not because it made actual sense in the story I was trying to tell. When I was planning that first version, Mitchell was supposed to be the brother anyway, but again I changed it to fiance for the potential drama. I think the brother/sister dynamic will end up working out better, and it was one of the main reasons I decided to rewrite the story instead of just tacking on an ending.
The ending will probably end up being similar to the originals, but I'm actually going to give it a conclusion, not some half baked part two that doesn't make any sense. I had (and still sometimes have) an issue with trying to fit too many things in one story, so I'm going to narrow down the ending and actually end it.
The human characters will be in the story more, don't you fret. Not sure how much more, but more then they have been. I just wanted to establish the relationship with the monsters a bit first.
Honestly? The Hall of Frame thing was mostly for the pun lol. But yes, also because I established the photography thing in the original and didn't do anything else with it.
