As I’m sure you have already noticed, I’ve unpublished everything on my profile except for the Journey of Faith series. My sincerest apologies to any readers who will miss the drafted works, but they are to stay in drafts from here on out. In short, this is because I’ve grown immensely as a writer since I began here, so my old works don’t properly represent who I am or what I’m capable of anymore. I wanted (and still want, sometimes) to take down the Journey of Faith series, as well, but because people have reached out to me to tell me how the books have helped them, I will keep those up. My reading lists will stay up, as well, in case readers want to peruse them.

So, what does this mean for the future? Well...I don’t know. I’m certainly not giving up writing (I could never give it up), but I haven’t decided if my writing will continue to be posted on Wattpad or not. If it does, it won’t be on this account.

I hope this won’t seem too unexpected, since I haven’t updated anything in literal years. Apologies again to anybody who will miss the drafted works, and massive thanks go to everyone who has supported me along my writing journey so far. You have no idea how much you've helped me. Thanks go, too, to all the people who will continue to support me as I go forward. Take care of yourselves, everybody, and remember: love above all. Peace, Kat

Hi there! I want to say that I admire your dedication to writing nonfiction. I don’t have that determination XD and I am a Christian questioning my faith and identity. If it’s okay, I would like to talk to you in private regarding this. Maybe some interviews too!

Katherina_Michels

@MysticalStoryWeaver Hi! So sorry, I'm never on this account any more, but if you look at my most recent pinned announcement in the comments, I've indicated my more recent account if you'd like to message me over there!

TheQueerFBI

Hi! Um, I don’t know if you still answer these, but how do you keep calm when dealing with homophobes? I get really heated when people invalidate me because of some things that happened in my past, (I tried so hard to pray the gay away that I thought I was broken when it didn’t work and proceeded to almost un-live.) but I really want to be respectful. Be the better man, I guess. Any tips?

Katherina_Michels

@TheQueerFBI Hey there! Honestly, it's really, really difficult. I used to have more patience for it than I do now (which I think is because I have come to the conclusion that most people won't change their minds, sadly. So while I hope that people will change their minds after reading my works, I no longer want to spend my energy debating homophobic people when I could spend my energy loving my girlfriend and writing queer fiction on my other account, instead). But I guess when I was interacting the most heavily with a vast number of homophobic commenters, I did my best to filter out my anger/frustration before replying (by ranting about it out loud to either myself or somebody else and then not typing any of it, haha) and trying to refute all their points with strong logical arguments, philosophy (the free online Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy is a great resource for this!), and statistical and scientific evidence.

Also, remember to take care of yourself!!! Take a break whenever you get overwhelmed! Immerse yourself in LGBTQ+-affirming works, spaces, and people as a counterweight to all of the negativity being sent your way! Like you, I used to struggle with a lot of internalized homo/biphobia (and still do on occasion, although it gets easier, I promise), so the comments would get me really heated, even though I kept it reigned in. So it's not necessarily about never getting angry when reading provocative and hateful stuff, but rather being able to deal constructively with that anger and frustration and redirecting it into good causes (e.g. giving people the facts, helping your fellow LGBTQ+ people accept themselves, that kind of thing).

I don't know if this helps at all, but I hope it does!

Hello kat, just wanted to say that I really really like your books! I learned a lot from the journey of faith series since I’ve always had endless doubts on Christianity even though it was my own religion. You answered a lot of questions that I’ve always wanted to ask my fellow Christians but couldn’t. I really enjoyed reading these honestly and I think you’re amazing! May God bless you( if he’s rly there) because for some reason I’m half agnostic now. Love u!
            Yours,
                  #1 fan.❤️

@immaql8 Aww, thank you so much! I'm really glad that my books could help you out in such a big way <3<3 This message is super sweet and made my day :)
