Hello, dear readers!

I know it has been quite some time since I’ve posted, and I wanted to be upfront with you about why. When I originally posted a singular work, I was nervous in doing so. Apprehension over whether my writings were good enough seized me—sadly enough, self-doubt tends to haunt those who naturally express themselves in a creative medium. Even to this day, I don’t declare myself a writer. It’s more of a hushed secret, and yet, throughout my life it has been a a constant form of solace.
Writing is a conduit I naturally gravitate to time and time again. It’s like taking a snippet of what you’re feeling, encapsulating those emotions through words, and bottling it up for someone to come across one day. At times, these poems are written from what I’ve experienced or the empathy and hurt I have felt reading what somebody else has experienced.
As mentioned earlier, it has been a source of comfort through life’s disappointments and difficulties, while also being the way I express my cherished experiences with people. With you, my trusted readers, I want to share what consoled and inspired me in my times of darkness; to hopefully bring you comfort, letting you know you are not alone during your times in the dark.
I believe that painting words to the page in these very moments, not shying away from them, only help to illuminate the good times even more so.
Beyond this, I also enjoy writing short stories and am looking forward to sharing those here as well.

So here’s to pushing against self-doubt in all the ways it manifests. I’m rather eager to be posting on here more consistently and hearing your valuable thoughts in return.

          	      Kindly,

          	          Hala M.
