As an aroace, I think you handled Alastor’s asexuality very well and tastefully in SOF and I would love to see you write an ace Alastor again!
The important thing to remember is that asexuality boils down to lack of attraction, not lack of libido. There are aces who are sex repulsed, sex neutral, and sex positive. An ace having intimacy doesn’t suddenly make them not ace.
There’s also being demisexual which is someone who ONLY feels sexual attraction to a person when a deep emotional bond is made. And then there’s being a greyace, which is an ace who will RARELY feel sexual attraction though most times it’s at a lower level than the average non ace person.
It’s a wide spectrum and many of us have different preferences and experiences, there’s no “right” way to be ace. I could tell from your writing in SOF that you put some research into asexuality and I thought you handled it with a lot of care and consideration.That’s really the best thing you can, so keep doing what you’re doing
