Elizabeth Dean

Hi all!

My name is Elizabeth and I love stories. Whether they're novels, short stories, or little tales my friends tell me, I'll devour them in a heartbeat. One night I had a dream. All of outer space was within my reach. I could go anywhere I pleased. I saw planet after planet. But nothing was better than to see my home from space. The deep blues and greens of our home planet. And then to see the red and orange rock of Mars, the fiery torment of Venus, and the whipping, whirling winds of icy Jupiter. To be there, to land there, set foot on lands we've only dreamed of visiting. That was truly wonderful. It had been so real, so incredible, that in the morning I was simply dying to tell my mother all about it.

And do you know what she said? She told me to write it. Put it in a story, a novel, a book.

Writing has always been enjoyable for me. It has been something that comes easily to me over the years. Once I start I just cannot stop. I could write for hours at a time once I get rid of all the distractions of every day life.

I've always enjoyed science, science fiction, astronomy, and the vast mystery of the universe. And sharing my knowledge and admiration of it with others is one of my favourite things to do. The sheer feeling of being there, standing on the surface of the Red Planet, was something I had to relay. I couldn't lose the memory of it. I took my mother's advice. I put the pen to paper.

I began writing stories from the age of 8 as part of school work. Poems and short, silly fantasy stories were the only compositions my mind could fathom at that age. But as I grew, the poems adopted greater, more vast meanings. and the silly fantasy stories became the grounds for the books I will write now. I began to write songs as I finished elementary school, songs full of sadness or regret, songs with a meaning to them.

Today I will start a journey that I hope never ends. I will chart the journey I took in my dreams. To infinity and beyond. ~Liz
