I was born in Liverpool to Northern Irish parents. When I was two, we returned to Ireland where most of my childhood was spent in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo. At seventeen, I moved to London and spent the next three years studying acting at The Drama Centre. I wrote A Girl Is a Half-Formed Thing at the age of twenty-seven.

I am working on my second novel in Norwich, where I live with my husband and daughter.

Thank you for reading.
