Echelon

Hi, I'm DP Markowitz. I have no lofty ambitions as a writer, I just want to make stories that entertain people and make them happy. 
I believe in the Tolkien train of thought where you should make your characters suffer great losses and trauma and make them earn their happy ending. 

I love fantasy stories and I'm particularly inspired by Japanese and Japanese influenced writing. I often feel  the latter is not taken seriously in the west which is a big shame. Whenever I think of Japanese influenced writing, I don't think of the negative stereotypes, I think of epic fantasy stories like Avatar The Last Airbender and Miyazaki films. Those are my prime influences with my current work Planetoid.
