In the latest installment of "Rancho Viejo," Mick and Dakota's incompatible worldviews are starting to clash more seriously. They're from totally different worlds and Mick's views on almost everything Dakota believes in and has fought to preserve are working her last nerve. Reina's tantrums aren't helping, either. Mick and Dakota were sailing toward a torrid romance in the last chapter of "Rancho Viejo." But when Mick cautiously questions Dakota's "authority" and her ancestors' right to own the land itself, the heat rises--but it's anger, not passion. And the harrowing story Dakota tells, to defend her ancestors and give him a more balanced view of local history is actually based on real events that my Native American in laws and friends know all too well. This one's for them. https://www.wattpad.com/851978870-rancho-viejo-10

I just posted yet another wonderful "gift" from a celeb playing music to us--so many people are showering us with their talent and special gifts right now for free. But WE have talent and special gifts here every day, even when there's no "social distancing" going on, and I am more and more grateful for this place every single day. I hope you're all coping and all safe and well, too, during these trying times. As writers and readers, we handle isolation a bit better than most, I think. But how wonderful to be able to come here for solace, and some great stories, when we're feeling a little bit lonely...MWA!

The plot's thickening at "Rancho Viejo," as we finally get a glimpse of Dakota's nemesis--and he gets a glimpse of her that blows his mind more than a little bit. For all the wrong reasons, of course. Doesn't stop him from continuing his campaign to turn her beloved ranch into a subdivision full of cookie cutter houses, though. Holla at your girl--she could use the love: https://www.wattpad.com/843563479-rancho-viejo-part-4

Just a heads up! "Rancho Viejo" will be getting edits as I go, so sometimes chapters will change a bit after you've read them. I'm still getting used to present tense, and as I do, I'm going back to smooth things out from time to time. So this one is subject to change throughout. Just a heads up! And if you haven't seen Chapter Three yet, where the plot really thickens...here you go: https://www.wattpad.com/842118687-rancho-viejo-3
