Hey, all you lovely Wattpadders! I'm not so active on here these days, and I'm wondering if maybe I should change that. Please reply here if you're actually seeing this message and you're interested in what I'm working on these days.
@CliffJonesJr I saw your message. I check in mostly daily but there's a lot less interactions for me to respond to so Wattpad has become a MUCH smaller part of my routine.
So it's come to this...
As you may have noticed, I haven't been active on Wattpad for a while. I started my account when there were no ads or paid stories or subscriptions, so it was a different animal entirely back then. Plus, I've been fortunate (and hard-working) enough to get some of my work traditionally published (Mirrormaze in 2020 and now Dreck and Somniscope coming out this year), so Wattpad doesn't hold the same value for me that it once did.
So now I'm at a crossroads with this account. I've started moving my stories over to my new Substack, and that's where I urge you to go if you're a fan of my writing or just want to keep in touch: https://cliffjones.substack.com/
If you'd like me to keep this account alive in some form, please let me know, along with any ideas you may have for how I ought to do that, what sort of thing I out to post. I'm not planning to actually close the account anytime soon, just to let it go dormant until I see value in maintaining it once again.
Thanks for all your support and feedback over the years! It's been surreal.
@CliffJonesJr Wattpad had definitely gone downhill for me. I miss the community interactions and the feedback from readers. Sadly I get about 5% as many reads now and 0.001% as many comments :(

Congratulations for tour published works i wish you all the best, i understand that sometimes life put us in a crossroad where it's hard to decide, i don't want to sound sad, but we're all used to your presence here in wattpad and It would be desippointing not to be able to enjoy your works, thank to your effort and to your devotion to your art you could reach the heart of a whole community in wattpad, and that community will always be alive even if you don't have the occasion to maintain your account, there will be always someone somewhere who could discover you over and over again ! ❤❤❤❤

So... Wattpad decided to show me another Premium ad today, and this time it decided I speak Tagalog. Good thing I remembered the default option is to subscribe, or I would've been stuck!
I'm sorry, but this isn't what I signed up for. When I started posting to Wattpad, it was completely ad-free. These days, I can't really recommend the app anymore, and I'm slowly backing away. Read my remaining work here while you still can!

@CliffJonesJr I almost forgot those old days when they did that... like promote movies and make reading lists for those movies ♡ I miss that.
@Shimaira I get that Wattpad needs to pay the bills, but in the beginning they said they were going to do that through partnerships with companies, doing story contests and such. They still do that, but apparently it's not enough. The ads make this a totally different platform.
@CliffJonesJr I feel your pain! I have a hard time recommending that people visit my stories here these days with all the distractions. It seems to be a universal problem...

Hey, everybody! It's been a while since I've posted any new stories here. Most of my recent efforts have gone into the recently published Mirrormaze, the soon-to-be-published Dreck, and my long-term project Adelaide in Ozghard.
Well, this isn't quite a new story I have for you, but I hope you'll like it anyway: Bite-Size Fairy Tales. It's an index of classic fairy tales, folk tales, legends, myths, and that sort of thing. I have a bunch already, and I'll be adding many more. Suggestions welcome!
