Full disclosure... I wrote this story years ago during the 1980s when still in college. It started as a class journaling project. As disclosed in the story, the writing was motivated when I attended Kim's wedding, the friend from the story who was Vickie's roommate and, to this day, her lifelong friend. There were recent tweaks made to the content, near its end, that were influenced by the style of a favorite author, Sam Shepard. In general, the story is about those moments in life that shape us and is a journey through young love. Enjoy-

a collection of thoughts i probably would not say out loud. things i notice about people. things i miss. things i pretend not to care about. opinions no one asked for. questionable decisions. memories that come back at inconvenient times. tiny existential crises. movies that changed my brain chemistry. songs i have accidentally built entire personalities around. i write about growing up, love, loneliness, identity, creativity, friendships, strangers, being perceived, being misunderstood, wanting everything and sometimes wanting nothing at all. mostly, i am interested in people and why they do the things they do. the conversations we replay in our heads. the people we wonder about long after they have left. the strange little moments that somehow end up meaning everything. somewhere between a diary and a conversation with someone i have never met. written anonymously because some thoughts are easier to tell strangers. consider this the table in the back of a cafe that probably does not exist, where the conversation gets a little too personal.

In the heart of Johannesburg, Dinaledi Mokoena moves between two lives: one in the fluorescent glare of a law office and the other beneath the neon haze of Club Chaos. Bound by duty, debt, and the sharp echo of her mother's voice, she's doing what she must to survive. But behind the routine lies a quiet unrest, a yearning to define herself beyond expectations. In Other Words: The Story of Dinaledi invites you into the intimate, fractured, and quietly defiant world of a young South African woman searching for her voice - one stolen hour, one aching truth, one whispered rebellion at a time.

Your twenties are supposed to be the years when you figure life out. But what happens when you're barely surviving long enough to understand what life is trying to teach you? 20s: Lessons From the Years I Didn't Understand is a raw and honest collection of poems tracing the journey from age 20 to 29-the years filled with uncertainty, poverty, love, loss, friendship, mistakes, responsibility, and growth. These poems walk through the nights of reckless adventures and house parties with friends, the struggle of working dead-end jobs while trying to stay in school, and the fear of wondering where the next meal will come from. They explore the pain of making impossible choices, including giving up a firstborn child for adoption and carrying the lifelong question of whether she will one day understand why. Through heartbreak, regret, broken friendships, family, fatherhood, failure, and moments of hope, the book captures what it feels like to grow up while still trying to figure out who you are. From 20 to 29, every year leaves something behind-a scar, a lesson, a memory, or a reason to keep going. This is not a story about having everything figured out. It is about learning that sometimes you have to get lost before you can find yourself. These are the lessons I didn't understand when I was living them-but I understand them now.

dedicated to the one that conveys the weight of the world. salted wounds is a continuation to kiss my cuts. not the same pain, but of its aftermath. written in my twenties, these poems explore survival after the chaos: grief that lingers, love that costs more, responsibility, numbness, and the quiet weight of becoming an adult.

Say you are in a vacation with your Fiancé or Fiancée, and suddenly one morning you wake up to the bell, to see the police standing at your door with an arrest warrant- what would you do? Blank right? The situation for Randhir and Sanyukta is the same right now. P.S. The story will be edited later on. :) It's short and has loads of loopholes.
