Most women care of how they appear. How much they weigh. What others think. How people react to them. Most girls react bad enough that it makes them stop eating completely. They act fine but refuse to swallow the thing that keeps their body moving. Most girls look in the mirror and think 'Ugly. Fat. No one will love you if you are fat.' Most girls believe this and damage the body that lets them see the world. Devastating, but true. Society is cruel to those who are beautiful and play with your heart. Most can't handle people telling them they are fat, ugly, waste of space, monstrosity, animal, beast. But the one word that makes anyone lose it is, "The world would be better if you were dead."

Body shaming stems from a long history that separates people by class, race, ability, and socio-economic status. Body shaming can have detrimental effects on body image and mental health.

She was everything. The air I breathed, the oxygen in my veins. Everything that kept me alive. She was me. She was.

If asked, baby Emily Robinson would have gleefully said that, her life revolved around two cornerstones: volleyball, Riley. Volleyball was the passion that gave her life. Riley was the "special friend" that fueled said passion and offered an otherwise insecure, shy little girl the means to grow up strong, confident, badass. Professional volleyball was a dream close to becoming true. Riley was reality. The most reassuring one. If asked, Emily would have said, she could not live without those two. That's why when, in a matter of months, she loses both, Emily's life starts spiraling down. The self consciousness about her looks goes from easily containable to fullout war waging deep inside her, menacing to bring her down any minute. So when, four years later, Riley comes back, he finds that his cutely shy Honeybee has turned into a beautiful quasi woman that is inexplicably paralyzed by fears. How can he help her regain the strength she had? And what happens when he starts realizing that indeed, his Honeybee is no longer a child, she's become a dangerously attractive girl.
