Annora is a 16 year old girl who lives in the time where witch hunts are common, and people are burned at the stake and executed for the smallest of crimes. She and her family are not welcome in town and, together, they must fight for the survival of their kind. They face terrible odds, but they must make a choice. One that will perhaps ensure their freedom forevermore, but one thing is for certain. Annora will do whatever she can to keep her family from harm, even if it means death.

Starla starts to remember more of her friend Nightlight. But she is taken under control by Allcheer's necklace. Can the Guardians save her?
