The three of them take on the world together. Scott McCall is the most popular guy in school. Captain of the lacrosse team, works part time at Deaton's animal clinic and the girls are all over him. Stiles Stilinski is average. There is nothing special about him. That's what he thinks at least. Scott McCall is a hot jock. All the girls want him. But girls aren't really what he is after. Stiles is very innocent. Usually 9th grade boys aren't innocent at all. But that is what Scott likes about Stiles. Scott finds the pale boy adorable, and after Scott gets bitten by a large creature, he and Stiles become bonded even more. But Stiles is afraid of what people will think and say about them being together. Luckily for him, Scott is there to be by his side.

However, Stiles never expected in his scientific travels that he would discover a large block of ice near Alaska, containing someone inside. Being the curious person that he is, Stiles of course had to take this finding back to New York, where his laboratory/work space was, showing off his finding to his colleagues and boss. His boss allowed him to investigate the block of ice to see how long the man had been frozen for, and that is exactly what Stiles does. After this, he manages to thaw out and melt the ice surrounding the man that Stiles assumed to be dead, but was proven wrong, much to Stiles' shock. He can't believe it. Stiles Stilinski didn't know much about his mother's link to the supernatural. Besides her book of spells and such, showing clearly from Deaton that she was a spark and knew magic. At the beginning of his second year of college, barely just twenty, he finds out she didn't just know magic, she knew about all of the bumps that happen in the dark night. When his two mysterious Uncles and the baby in a trench coat show up, they show him what all his mother really did revealing the unknown Winchester.
