Light was brought into Daryl's world when he met Rick Grimes, and they enjoyed fourteen wonderful years together before the world decided it was time to suffer again. It started when Rick was shot on duty, and it just got worse from there. Believing his husband was dead, Daryl left their home with their son, and unborn child in his stomach.

Rick is a lost man; his family is all but fractured, his best friend lay dead, the aftermath of a harsh winter. Rick didn't really feel as though the winter ever ended. It stuck with him. The cold, the hurt. Can he come back from this? What challenges, conflicts await him? And can he ever reconcile with his wife?

No one was ready for an apocalypse. Mothers lost their children, children lost their brothers and sisters. There was no man or woman on earth who hadn’t lost someone they cared for… except for who didn’t have anyone from the beginning. Daryl Dixon, being the rational man he was, acted without losing the control of the situation. He had a plan and he knew how to take care of himself, he knew how to survive on his own because that was what he did for his entire life: survive, not live. Daryl was a fighter and he didn't allow anyone to get under his skin. His face wass illegible, his eyes had seen things but his mouth was shut sewn.

Rick is a lonely guy who possesses little meaning in life. Somewhere along the line, duty calls. Training for the newest member of Atlanta City's Police Department, the lowlife, "Daryl Dixon" climbs aboard. Not only has the stray man built a reputation for himself through past crimes, hijinks, and so-on, but Rick finds himself struggling with wavering patience and courage as he takes charge in practice. A decent amount of composure will have to be applied as he's forced to tame this reckless animal. Will Rick's life change for the better or will he find himself stuck in the endless loops of misery he's been bound to for the past 27 years?

It's very difficult to love in the apocalypse

Rick's group is lost on the road until they cross paths with several other survivors during a run. The two groups join forces and embark on an excursion to a supposedly safe island estate 400 miles down the road. One of the new girls, Melina, is a billionaire's daughter turned badass walker slayer. Daryl is a humble redneck with a handsome face & hot body. Sparks fly, but Carol won't hear of it. Massive jealously and craziness ensues amongst all of the group members. Basically an alternate end to S5.

(AU- Apocalyptic.) Rick Grimes had been bedridden for a few months now, receiving help from Carol along his healing process. But, when the majority of the group have agreed to go scavenging for a few days, it leads to Daryl having a lot of spare time. **This story will branch off of the season 5 midseason finale.....only this time, Beth survived.** Beth Greene, an innocent young girl, was viewed as weak and uncapable to survive in this apocalyptic world. Throughout her journey, she has learned new skills that have made her grow as a survivor, and she wants to stay alive. After her father's death, the emotions Daryl and her went through, and the imprisonment at the hospital, she must learn to never let her guard down. *I do NOT own any of these characters. All rights belong to AMC and The Walking Dead. I plan on branching out my own story on this, but some scenes relating to the comic and TV show may make an appearance, but with an added twist*
