She lived for over two thousand years in the halls of Mirkwood, under the care of King Thranduil. Until one day, the elven armies marched out to meet the firedrake called Smaug. - Standing alongside the elk which the king of the Woodland elves sat, she watched as the smoke and flames burned and suffocated the people of Dale, and watched as the grandson of the King Under the mountain pleaded to her king for help as his people fled from their former home. The king did nothing. He turned away from the carnage and his armies turned with him. All except one soldier, who stood away from beside Thranduil's great mount, and yelling for her king's forgiveness, leaped into the burning city. - This story is no longer traditional in the sense that I'm assuming that if you've made it all the way into my remote corner of the LOTR Fic world, you pretty much have the main plot down pat.
