After the acceleration rune yanked the men of progress into its core, they find themselves thrown into a new world with nothing but each other, the knowledge they could never go back, and the shared sense that something deep and powerful is calling to them from the woods. Jayce is floating. His eyes open slowly, taking in the cosmos. A swathe of colors lie before him. They intermingle beautifully, clash boldly. The barest impressions of life appear across the tapestry of the universe. Ever changing and looming. An intricate dance. OR Small snippets of Jayce finding the joy in life (Viktor), and being alive.

Viktor had mastered the art of goodbyes. He never took too much time, but he also never rushed through the moment. He wasn't indifferent, and always expressed his emotions out loud. Yet, he wasn't too cheesy or cliché with his words and avoided exaggerated displays of affection. For Viktor, goodbyes were about leaving his loved ones with genuine and beautiful smiles. Jayce was the type to miss people really easily. And Intensely. He was the type of friend who would sprint down the corridors, yelling exuberantly when he saw his friends after a summer break. That was one of the first things Viktor learnt about Jayce, when they first met. So the fact that Jayce was not here to greet his friends and brighten everyone's morning was unusual, to say the least. It didn't add up. And Viktor couldn't shake the guilt he felt. "Maybe it is your fault, you idiot." The thought kept running through his head. Or in other words, where Viktor tries to fix the relationship he had broken. Disclaimer: English is not my first language, so it may not be perfect. Viktor Čapek has never met Jayce Talis in his life. Sure, they have a few classes together, but they've exchanged nothing more than mindless glances. Viktor is too focused on his studies to even think about trying to make new friends. Jayce, though also preoccupied with his studies, already has a group of friends that are near and dear to him. So, when Viktor has a dream concerning Jayce, he chalks it up to being sleep-deprived. Perhaps he's just been staying up too late studying. But then, the dreams continue, becoming more vivid each time. Sometimes, he's having a conversation with Jayce; sometimes, they're working together on strange-looking experiments in a dimly lit lab. It's not long before these dreams begin to feel more like memories. Jayce, meanwhile, finds himself daydreaming about Viktor in the middle of class. That, in itself, wasn't unusual - he had a bad habit of zoning out when he got bored - but every one of these daydreams was centered around Viktor. Often he sees himself hunched over a lab table next to Viktor, working alongside the man in comfortable silence. Other times, he swears he can hear snippets of a conversation held between him and Viktor. Every time, he feels a deep sense of déjà vu, like these events have somehow already happened to him. It's clear that having normal college lives at Piltover University simply isn't in the cards for these two. The universe has no plans to sit back and let them avoid one another - at least, not for long.
