She has escaped the world that had haunted her since she was three, she has been accepted into the Guardians, her dream career, and best of all her friends are right there with her. In a dystopian world, everything is controlled. But a girl aspires to get away from all of this, escape the control, but her world is full of unknown. A dystopian-style story similar to Divergent, but with my own twist.

Jayden Sage is not your typical, teenage girl. Sixteen years old, second year in high school, and not many friends, Jayden is depressed in the school her single mom has her in. But Jayden's mom is getting fed up with her attitude, and the constant fights she gets involved in at school. So to put Jayden's public school fights to an end, and turn them into something useful, Jayden's mom puts her in a huge, secluded boxing academy for troubled kids and teens. Jayden wasn't expecting to fall in love with the school or more so, the fighting ring. And she didn't expect to gain a single friend there, especially not planning on falling for one.

Esmerelda has made many choices in her life. Never did she expect that one choice she made would forever change her life. When Esme took her younger sister away from a household that couldn't support her, she didn't know that the life ahead of her would be full of dangerous truths. People have many ways of coping with stress and anxiety. Dancing, Singing, drawing, Writing, Painting, drugs. Some habits are healthier than others. Her stress mechanism is running. Physically running away if she feels uncomfortable. If she doesn't want to be there, she will run. It's her escape from everything reality has to throw at her. Don't stop running. If you stop, unwanted things will catch up.

Laurel is a young woman who has already been through a lot. Her story started with her dad's leaving the family, her mom's passing unexpectedly years later, and then her brother relapsing in drugs. She moves in with her boyfriend who becomes abusive, and decides she needs to escape. As she 'becomes' Laurel and grows up more, she realizes that she needs to stick close to her brother, her only family now, and that she needs to overcome the trials that life has thrown at her thus far so she can become a better version of herself. She seeks peace and normalcy and yet she's about to be far from it when she meets Ben. As she tries to mend and heal and grow, she finds herself in yet another series of problems. She grapples with many questions, doubts, and meets people who aren't planning to leave her side anytime soon.
