Imagine that Augustus didn't die in The Fault in Our Stars, but that the love of his life did. Augustus takes this death very harsh and he is having trouble dealing with himself now that she's gone. He experiences some dark times, but will someone else help him pull himself back together? Will this person show Augustus Waters that there is still good in the world, even when you lose the ones you love? Disclaimer; I do not own Augustus Waters, Hazel Grace, or Lidewij Vliegenthart. I believe we have a choice in this world, about how to tell sad stories. On the one hand you can sugarcoat it. I like that version as much as the next girl does. It's just not the truth. The truth is you don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, but you do have a say in who hurts you. Life doesn't have to be perfect, for love to be extraordinary.

*SPOILERS* do not read this fanfic if you have not read the fault in our stars. The characters all belong to John Green. This is what happens atfer Gus's death on earth.

In this book, we take a look at Hazel's life after the tragic death of her beloved boyfriend Augusts Waters. Hazel and Isaac become closer friends and soon develop feelings for each other, even though Monica wants Isaac back. Hazel befriended a new girl in support group, a 15 year old girl with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Her name is Julia. As their friendship develops, Julia's health gets worse and she ends up in the ICU. Hazel is devastated by the increasing sickness in her best friend and finds her self in the literal heart of Jesus praying to not loose another loved one. Just then, a medical miracle happens to Julia, she suddenly gets better and her stage 4 cancer goes down to a stage 3 and her health increases. Hazel finally feels happy again, but Augustus Waters is always in the back of her mind. She finds herself rereading her old texts between him and her. She finds a way to be happy again even though she has an empty hole in her heart for her one true love, Augustus Waters.

What if Gus's cancer never came back? What if he was perfectly fine? What if it was Hazel's health that was getting worse and not Gus?
