Shells of the Sea

This is the second in what has now become a series of short stories featuring two children. Writing this was a slow, frustrating process, and I believe it shows. Having only vague inspiration for the scenes of this story, the feeling of going on a trip to a new city as a child, which is what I wanted to convey originally, is lost. Not only that, but because I haven't read a novel in over a year, the general quality of my writing has suffered for it. But despite what I might think of this story, I hope it can be viewed differently by an outside set of eyes, and that maybe traces of this sense of displacement and newness that the sights and smells of a new place can evoke in a child can somehow be found in the crevices of this work.
