Penelope Cunningham lives in a small secluded town in Victorian England. She's the daughter of a widowed innkeeper, and she has a fairly average life. That is, up until all these strange happenings start popping up around town, and it is up to Penelope to get to the bottom of it all. People disappearing, a series of letters with no source, and a cloaked clan who might be involved in the kidnappings. Who is the writer of the mysterious letters being received? Why is Penelope having foreboding dreams of her deceased mother? And who is behind the kidnappings?
