Ohio isn't forever. That's what seventeen year old Heather Whimes keeps telling herself, but she's really not so sure anymore. Being stuck in a town where nothing happens, and you have no friends, sucks. Not to mention that money is always tight.

When Rob Miller moves in next door, Heather becomes excited because she thinks maybe she'll actually have a friend for once, but he doesn't seem to care for her. But eventually Heather manages to uncover who Rob really is, and he's not the bad boy he pretends to be.

He too believes that Ohio isn't forever, and the next best thing the two of them can think to do, is to run away from it.
