Chase Rivers was always a quiet kid who never really cared about other people, not because he was an asshole, he just never felt like anyone was worth devoting his time to. And as he finally finds someone who really matters to him, he has to protect her from an outbreak turning people into unstoppable super humans. Ironic, maybe.
