The kind of people who raise their children up on the Bible and teach them to say yes ma'am and no sir. Nine times out of ten they will use God bless you somewhere in the conversation. However, there is always that one person who decides to stray from the traditional ways and go off on some foolish tangent that leads them no where but into trouble. Samuel Eklund just so happens to be that one in his hometown. People around town veer away from him because he's known to cause trouble. Everyone who's ever taken the time to talk to him, knows he doesn't believe in God. Some would deem him an atheist but Samuel refuses to call himself so, since he doesn't spend most of his time trying to disprove something he doesn't believe in. He has just seen too much suffering and experienced too much to ever give the ideology a second thought. Between an alcoholic father and a mother who is losing her mind, he's got enough problems. Plus he doesn't want to believe that any God would be so cruel as to let one man suffer so much while another lives a life of bliss. That is until he meets a preacher's daughter named Faith. She is the exact opposite of him, she spends all the time she can talking about the Lord and spreading His word. Every time the church doors are open, she's there and not just because her father happens to be the preacher.
