After DOFP, the characters move on, the X Men rebuilt and Erik in solitude. In 2021, Logan returns from travelling to discover a new arrival. Mallory Howlett, his daughter from the alternate timeline he never experienced; is in trouble, and is the host of Apocalypse, cursed with his presence until he reaches full power. Logan reluctantly realises that the hole in his heart was for her all along.
