Prologue

23 year old widower, Bose Barrett, needs a wife and he needs one fast. Ignoring the advances from women folk in town, he writes a personal ad in hopes of finding a lady that is educated -and doesn't already know all of his business- to help raise his sassy 3 year old daughter.

Ella, a young woman orphaned at the age 13 then raised by a kind farmer and his wife, knows her days on the farm are numbered Mrs. Cody already passed and Mr. Cody isn't far behind her. Soon she will be homeless again, so what does she do? She answers an ad in the paper. A mail order bride, she may be right crazy but this will be a new adventure.
