I wrote this for my english assignment last term. We were meant to show aspects of American culture because that was our topic, North American texts. Icarus represents this through his self-absorbtion whereas Death sees all.
Though I guess this isn't exactly 'original' because it's based on the greek myth, there's no harm in trying
