Prologue

Ava's been running for years. Running from life, love and pain. It's all she can do to maintain her sanity after a horrible accident stole ten years of her memories. When her beloved grandmother passes away she is forced to return home. As a gift, her Gram left her a written account of Ava's mysterious life before the accident. Ava can't see how a fairy tale about magical trees that transport to another world and a prince have anything to do with her past. That is, until she meets the elusive Braden and her reality is turned upside down. As a seed of recognition sprouts between them, she begins to unravel the truth behind her Gram's retelling of their young romance; love doesn't come without sacrifice. If they want to be together, she must overcome a lethal king from a dark kingdom and a deadly batch of zombies called Cryptors. The hardest part, however, will be learning to trust her instincts and accept the long lost girl that has molded her into the woman she has become. Time is not on their side and she must do it all before she loses everything she never knew she always wanted.
