Description
Sam and Emily Uley lose their precious baby when she disappears from the La Push beach at only two years old. Wrecked with grief, Sam struggles with his responsibilities as the pack's alpha. After Emily suggests they get their foster license, their first child is supposed to be a one-year-old boy, but a case worker pleads with them to take in a fiery older girl. Adrienne Odell, a foster teen, is out of juvie. She's run out of her previous home, and her reputation isn't spotless. Her boyfriend and his brother are the only ones who she opens up to, and they each have a complicated past with her. When she's placed in her new home, she decides she may as well have fun in the tight community. But she's surrounded by supernaturals, and that proves to have its downfalls. Paul Lahote is not good company to keep. He's notorious for his temper and goes through girls like candies. When he imprints on his alpha's foster daughter, she's already got her own problems (including two boys wrapped around her finger, through she doesn't seem to notice). With anger and trust issues to match his, she doesn't want anything more than a fling with him. Normally he'd be fine with that, but Paul can only fight the imprint for so long.
