"Amazing isn't it?" I say breathlessly. "What is?" He peaks over at me with curiosity. "I ran away from a life I knew that was safe and sane, only to find myself taking a one way ticket to a place that could either break me or fix me," I feel the tears rush down the sides of my eyes. "Was it worth it?" He grasp my hand tightly, patiently waiting for my answer. I turn my head in his direction, watching him with ease. And for the first time, I knew the answer to that question. "Definitely." - Emma Swayne has always kept her mouth shut and obeyed what ever her parents ask her to do. That is until she walked into her apartment and woke up. Panicking, she decides to pick up all her things and take a ticket to the first plane out. Looking away from her old life and into a new one, in a new town, Emma discovers things about herself that she never even knew. Andrew Patterson is missing something and for a really long time he's never known what it is. Although, being in the police force has been giving him an idea of what it means to come home to a family, just the way his partner does. Yet, there isn't anyone that can fit that role for him--at least nobody that's come his way. However, the universe has other plans for these two--one that they never seemed to expect in their crazy lives. As the two begin to discover and invest into each other's lives, conflict begins to up rise as well. So, with determined parents and a life threatening job will they be able to uphold each other? Or will it all come crashing down?
