Time Travel?!

Harry one night reads in one of Hermiones books about time travel right. He finds out, that it's possible for him to travel back in time and interfere history.
He then decides to go back the year Tom was born, without the other's noticing, but loses the time turner on the way. What will Harry do know? Without the time turner he can't go back, but even if he want's to go back, what is he going to do about the crying Tom Riddle in his hands?
