Chapter 1- Odd One Out

Alexander lives in a world of magic and danger where one wrong move means certain death. Luckily he's been dealt a good card...if you look at it optimistically. He's a half breed so he has strong castor and cursed roots. However the castors hate the cursed and vice versa so he's an outcast wherever he goes even among his own family. His power is great though and he's destined to do extraordinary things. So when he runs away, is nearly drained by vampires, is nearly killed by the ravenous and gets saved by a handsome stranger all in one night, things get...interesting.
