~Completed 7-15-17~ //Under Revision (7-6-21)// I couldn't even begin to recall all the times and places I had heard the phrase; he was different. And it was always spoken as if being different was something so insanely unique to one individual. I had never understood it, because every one of those people had always seemed exactly the same to me. Just as indifferent, just as manipulative, just as unreliable as the last. And then I had met him, and it was passion and comfort and a security beyond anything I had ever known in my life. Simply being with him was assurance to the fact that sometimes they are different. Sometimes you can look someone in the eye and just know that you had found it. Love, home, someone faithfully connect to you in such a deep way. The feeling was irrefutable. Though as I'm pulled from my sleep and the image of a man so completely adoring fades from my mind; the lingering warmth of our shared emotions still hanging on the brim of my subconscious. I'm reminded of the fact that a man like that can only exist in one place. Dreams. ~ "You are nothing like the man I met by the creek." I hissed, keeping my distance as his anger radiated off him. "Dreams aren't always reality." He scoffed turning to leave again. "I'd give anything to have that man." I growled in return, but he continued walking. Not giving me a second glance.
