Cassidy Cruise is tired of seeing love happen for everyone but her. As the holiday season quickly approaches, Cassidy comes up with a plan: she's going to get a boyfriend by Christmas. She carefully creates a list of five guys to go on a first date with and plans on narrowing it down to one just as Christmas break rolls around. It's the perfect plan. Until it isn't. In between dates, Cass spends more time with Garrett, her friend/the son of the owner of the bookstore where Cassidy works. She doesn't anticipate her growing feelings for him.
