Laura Rose was trying to live her life like any teenager her age, or at least she was attempting to. Going to school, hanging out with her friends, saving up for college, you name it. Given her circumstances, Laura wasn't troubled by the fact that she was adopted, or so everyone thought...

Deep down, she could never bring herself to abhor against the woman who had brought her into this world. Angry was never the right word that described how Laura felt towards her birth mother; she was more eager to know her than anything else. Unbeknownst to the young girl, it was only a matter of time until the truth behind her past-her very lineage-would be revealed, and not in a good way. Still, that didn't stop her curiosity from getting the best of her.

As soon as Laura's parentage was brought to light, the normal life she once knew was no more the moment a viral outbreak was unleashed upon Seattle. Ensnared in a never ending web of danger, deceit, and bloodshed, Laura must find a way to navigate through her once peaceful hometown that had become a bloody battlefield.

With the help of her birth mother and the rest of her newfound family and friends, can Laura be protected from both the inhuman ghouls and the deranged malefactors alike who are out for her very blood? More importantly, can the young girl be kept out of safe reach from the most feared bioterrorist of all time: her father?
