Chapter 1

People walk through the streets, swaths of black and grey with a rare flash of colour. Each day passes, these people continue to walk, to live and eventually die. Evangeline was different. She didn't see the blank haze everyone saw. She saw the details, the small children begging for food, the smog coating the air and cracks in the cobblestone.

She knew she was different to the others, but never knew there was a reason.
