CHAPTER ONE

RUN! All I could do was run. Their anguished cries filled the air all around me. I kept on looking behind me. The cold autumn breeze brushed past me. Flashes of blood blinded my view. I could feel my pulse pounding. My throat and lungs burned with want of air. I could feel the dampness of air on my skin. My legs felt like rubber but I could not stop, I must keep running. At the sound of a voice I whipped my head around in fear. My feet slipped on the wet leaves and I fell, my head colliding with a rock. Everything went black.
