Chapter 1

Do you know that feeling you get when you know for certain that you can no longer live life the way you have always lived it. Life, as you know it, has completely changed in what seems like a blink of an eye. That was me, five years ago. I held a single white rose in my left hand and my three year old daughter in my right. I couldn't find the strength to pull tear soaked eyes from the casket that held my best friend, my partner, my confidant, my lover. My whole life flashed before me.
