I sank deeper into my duvet as I shivered from the breeze that seeped through the cracks above the tinted window. I could hear faint murmurs on the other side of the door. I know you ain't sleep," the deep raspy voice spoke. I open my eyes to the old man smiling down at me with his hand behind his back. "Hey Grandpa." I sheepishly smiled before sitting up, "What are you doing here?" "Since you turn seven tomorrow, I thought that you deserve to open one of your presents earlier." He placed the dark sea green box before me that was secured with a golden ribbon. The silky fabric slipped between my small fingers as I pulled onto the ribbon, opening the box. Confusion overtook my excitement as I looked up at the old dark man, "what is it?" "A gift that has been passed down from every generation in the Lawson family." He smiled. I grabbed the circular shape necklace and narrowed my eyes on the engraving, "w-what does that say." I pointed out the symbols. "The Savior."
