Prologue

They say that there is a reason for everything, and that in the end, all will be as it should. God, I hope that's true, because right now, I haven't much more hope to spare.

The details are a bit spacy, but I do remember the fear and the adrenaline. I also remember being unable to speak or move, or have any coherent thought. That is, other than: how do I get away. I have tried to get away once before. But only once, and never twice.
