I smile and chuckle to myself. "That's a bit harsh, don't you think?"

He sighs as he pulls the door closed behind him and steps onto the porch. "Let's see, this is the first time you've shown up at my house in the four years I've known you, so I have to assume you want something. What makes me think that you wouldn't?"

I shrug. "Maybe I think you're cute."

He smiles. "Maybe you think I'm an idiot."

I smile back. "Maybe you're right."
