The Christmas Kiss

He stared deeply into my eyes and I returned his gaze. He had me gently pinned to the wall right under the mistletoe, his lips inches from mine. "I would like to kiss you." He whispered. I choked out an okay before his lips met mine. He tasted of peppermint and pumpkin spice, his lips soft and gentle. The grandfather clock down the hall chimed. He pulled away reluctantly. "Merry Christmas, Jessie."
