Madeline White was adopted at age thirteen by Amy Rose, a middle-aged woman without much family. The woman she lives with has a whole new system that Maddy isn't accustomed to.

Four years later, something happens. Maddy has had a strong "bond" with Mother. She's never had to share her mother with anyone and I mean anyone; until Mother finds a man.
