Gilbert is ready to scrap his past and start anew in his freshman year, hand in hand with his best friends Francis, and Antonio (who is occasionally also Tonia), and his genius little sister who was moved to his grade. But navigating high school as a short, awkward transboy proves to be increasingly hard; there's this guy- well, Gil thinks they're a guy, named Mattie who Gil's fixated on, he has to watch out for his little sister, keep up with his friends, and balance work, all while keeping his identity under wraps. And the bliss of the beginning only lasts so long.
