In the 20th century, before the Original Family left New Orleans. Elijah saved a young girl in her early teens, Euphemia "Euphi" Cordelia Lieben, and became a resident in the compound since she was avoiding her family. Then Euphi met the one and only Niklaus Mikaelson, who at first tried to kill her for sport. But over the years she grew close to the Original Family, especially to the notorious Niklaus Mikaelson.
