I felt something tugging at my dress.

"Mommy?"

I looked down to see my daughter, who was staring at me with her pale blue eyes.

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"What was Daddy like?"

I could feel my heart twist into a knot.

"O-Oh... Well... H-He was..."

"Mommy? Why are you crying?"

"Huh? It's nothing, sweetheart... Your father was... A very good man... It was his job to protect the innocent, and help those in need..."

"Oh... Was Daddy good at his job?"

I smiled weakly.

"Yes, sweetie... He was the very best..."

Her shoulders sunk.

"Sweetheart?"

"I wish I could've met Daddy..."

I sighed.

"Me too sweetheart... Me too..."
