They become close, keeping each other company as Marie is made to heal people with her powers, feeling exhausted every time she does. One night, it's not Marie who is being taken away, it's Bucky and he stays gone for quite a while. Suddenly, Marie is without a friend to rely on. When they meet again, Marie is relieved to have him back only to realize Bucky is not who he used to be. He seems cold, empty, almost lifeless, all because of HYDRA. This affects both of them in many ways. They go through a lot, while they both are bedeviled with the horrors that come from being under HYDRA's control.
